Cosgrove wins caution filled season opener @ Winchester |
The late models had a plague of cautions in the feature with Bo Feathers going to the rear due to a flat tire but to come back and finish 7th just behind Tommy Armel. Sean Cosgrove however, was the man. Once he took the lead, his car seemed to like the outside groove and never looked back. On numerousrestarts Gerald Davis tried to make a run but to have his car come up short having to settle for second just ahead of Andy Anderson. The Ernie's Salvage Yard Hard Charger was Wayne Johnson. The middle of the pack was full of side by side racing. The likes of Mike Hardy, Walter Couch, Sonny Conley, Allen Brannon and several other showed that the new clay allowed for consistent two wideracing and at one time four wide, yes four wide. It was easy to say the Gasoline Alley Auto andTruck Sales Late Models put on a season open to remember. |
